ITS System Administrator/IA

Location: Fleet & Family Readiness - Service Center (Keyport, WA)

Brief Description Of Duties: This position is part of a team that administers and monitors Microsoft Windows servers and workstations as well as various network devices and systems. Candidate performs a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operation support of Microsoft Windows Server systems including daily maintenance of redundancy and backup systems. Successful candidate will possess strong customer relationship and communication skills. Candidate must be a self-starter with a keen attention to detail, work independently and within a team. Must be organized, able to multitask and work under stringent deadlines.

Work includes consulting with system users and defining needs, analyzing systems problems and designing secure solutions, developing systems requirements and procedures that align with DoD guidelines and standards, as well as PCI/DSS regulatory Compliance. This includes Windows operating systems, security setup and configuration, Active Directory administration, enterprise desktop solutions and Citrix platforms. This position interfaces with third party support and vendors and attends various meetings. This position researches, proposes and implements new technologies and provides training, as needed. This position is required to provide weekend and after-hours on-call support as needed. This position is has a significant role in the Information Assurance responsibilities, ensuring all systems meet security requirements. This position includes responsibility for all equipment inventories and accountability.

Qualification Requirements: Knowledge of enterprise level computer systems, networks and infrastructure. Knowledge sufficient to assist in the configuration of associated systems and to advise and assist both management and staff on functional use is crucial. Excellent troubleshooting techniques and customer service skills required to sufficiently provide high-quality customer service support. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Platforms. Experience with Server Virtualization, Citrix and Cisco a plus.

Critical Skills/Experience includes Windows Server Administration experience with a security focus. BS or BA degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience is required. A CISSP Certification is required at hire or be able to acquire within 6 months of hire. Technology certification(s) in applicable technologies is also required, preferably Microsoft. Candidate must possess good communication skills, both oral and written. This position is subject to a background check in accordance with federal regulations.
