Human Resources Personnel Clerk

Location: Naval Base Kitsap - Keyport Service Center

Pay Grade: NF-0203 02

Brief Description of Duties: This position is located at the Fleet & Family Readiness Program Service Center, Keyport, Washington.  Performs a variety of related clerical tasks in support of recruiting, staffing, and personnel action reports, such as but not limited to maintaining applicant suspense files, entering data in automated data processing system, processing and logging of applications, employee performance appraisals and awards.  Answer questions and/or explains to applicants and employees, routine personnel policies and procedures.   Maintains centralized Official Personnel Files for the region, updates files with pay adjustments, copies of transactions, evaluations and other personnel official correspondence.  Incumbent provides support in recruitment, developing vacancy announcements, screening and evaluating applications for Employee Food Services.

Qualification Requirements: Qualified candidate must have at least two years of office/administrative experience including automated data processing systems, computer software to include Microsoft Office products.  Knowledge of NAF organizations, personnel regulations, principles and concepts is desired.  Skill in oral expression to explain processes and procedures, and the ability to make decisions and resolve problems or discrepancies is required.  Skill and ability to compile, gather, assemble, consolidate and comprehend personnel data, establish and maintain various types of records and reports.  Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with deadline achievement.  A degree or training in human resources or related field would be an asset to the position.  A valid Washington State driver’s license is required.

Conditions of Employment: This position is subject to a background check in accordance with federal regulations.  Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a CIA badge.
