Waiter/Waitress [multiple positions]

Location: Naval Base Kitsap Conference & Catering

Pay Grade: NA-7420-01

This position provides quality customer service to all eligible patrons. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, Navy Exchange and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events.

Sign on bonus of $500 after 90 days continuous employment.

Brief Description of Duties: Performs routine duties of servicing banquets either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders. This position is basically waiter work, with fewer procedure requirements than those involved in positions in restaurant, café or bar operations. Assists with banquet and event preparation including set up and breakdown. Refills food and beverage containers, replenishes beverages and condiments, and clears tables as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Ability to follow simple oral and written instruction and an understanding of sanitary food and beverage handling techniques and an understanding of food preparation methods.

Conditions of Employment: Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required. This position is a flexible position and incumbent may need to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays. Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit and complete a Food Safety course. Stands, walks, stoops and stretches, usually for long period of time, handling food and beverage trays and containers, seldom weighing more than 40 pounds.
