Housing Management Assistant [multiple vacancies]

Location: Naval Base Kitsap - Morale, Welfare & Recreation Programs

Pay Grade: NF-1173-03

Employee is the lead in proper upkeep of cleanliness, repair and maintenance of the MWR Unaccompanied Housing buildings. Employee privileges include access to base facilities such as gyms, recreation centers, restaurants, and discount tickets to sporting and entertainment events. Sign on Bonus of $500 at 90 days continuous employment.Retention bonus of $500 every six months for first two years of employment with signed service agreement.

Brief Description of Duties:  **Supports NBK Unaccompanied Housing** Performs daily oversight of maintenance of lodging facility. Works directly with management and Navy Contractors to ensure facilities are meeting requirements of DOD and Navy regulations. Incumbent provides the functions related to on-site building management. Performs inspections of vacant rooms and common areas daily checking for cleanliness and maintenance problems. Conducts other inspections with the Site Manager, Regional Manager or CNIC staff as requested. Acts as an escort when Public Works or contractors require access to guestrooms. Initiates trouble calls and work requests for any maintenance problems. Performs minor maintenance actions (changing light bulbs, preventative maintenance on fire extinguishers,replace air filters, etc). Follows up on all corrective actions to ensure completion and satisfaction of the guest. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for control of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment in their assigned buildings. Coordinates with front desk and housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy. Provides input for short and long range planning. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:  Overall trade experience including, painting, electrical, plumbing, and electronic door lock system. Requires three years of documented work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations and administration related to maintenance operations. Professional knowledge of lodging organization, administration, policies/procedures, and supervisory practices in conducting day-to-day operations. Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs, including knowledge of the property management system. Must possess basic math and reading skills along with the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. This position is subject to satisfactory completion of a national background check. Incumbent is expected to obtain certification formaintenance operations and other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.

Conditions of Employment:  Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion and maintenance of National Agency (NACI) background check. Must be able to obtain certifications in First Aid and CPR within the first 90 days on the job. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a food handler’s, Controlling Alcohol Risk Effectively (CARE). The work requires frequent physical exertion while instructing or guiding participants in a variety of activities. Work may require sitting, walking, long periods of standing, bending and lifting of moderately heavy items up to 40 pounds. Work may require working outside for special events or leading outdoor group outings or trips. Hours of work will vary as required by the needs of the program to include split days off, evenings, weekends and holidays. To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply.
